Leadership training for women trade unionists in Paris

From January 14 to 16, a training program for women titled “Leadership and capacity-building for women trade unionists” is taking place in Paris. This training aims to encourage women’s participation in decision-making processes and strengthen their ability to lead organizations.

Participants are delving into topics such as women’s movements, the art of negotiation, and methods for achieving goals. Additionally, considerable attention is being devoted to enhancing conflict resolution skills. Opportunities for developing and implementing gender equality policies are also being explored. Women from various European trade unions are learning how to create action plans to transform the organizations they represent.

“It’s always worthwhile to attend such seminars because they provide an excellent opportunity to gain experience, share insights, and establish connections with like-minded women from other countries. Joint events not only enrich us with new knowledge but also reinforce a sense of solidarity and the understanding that we are not alone in facing similar challenges,” shared Daiva Skrupskelienė, Head of the Women’s Entity at the Lithuanian Industry Trade Union Federation, reflecting on her experiences in Paris.

The training program “Leadership and capacity-building for women trade unionists” is part of the European Trade Union Institute’s (ETUI) “Women Leadership Program.”
