The European Public Service Union (EPSU) is celebrating its 45th anniversary.
On this occasion, Dalia Jakutavičė, chairwoman of the Lithuanian Industry Trade Union Federation, sent her sincere wishes to EPSU General Secretary Jan Willem Goudriaan on behalf of the organization.
“We are proud to be a part of the organization which is commited to social justice, equal rights and the promotion of democracy and human rights. Thank you for being a strong pillar of support in the face of any problem affecting our workers!” – the letter states.
The greeting notes that solidarity and working together are now more valuable than ever. It is hoped that the two organizations will continue their mutual cooperation for many years to come to ensure that public service workers are valued and respected across Europe and that high quality public services are available to all citizens.
EPSU was founded on September 20, 1978. This organization represents eight million European public service workers from more than 260 trade union organisations.
The Lithuanian Industry Trade Union Federation is a long-term member of EPSU.
