27th Lithuanian industry workers’ families sports games were held

On June 10-11, 2023, in Šventoji, at the “Energetikas” recreation base, the traditional 27th Lithuanian industry workers’ families sports games were held. The event was attended by over 700 industrial company employees and their family members from all over Lithuania.

17 teams from heat industry, chemical industry, energy, and other companies took part in the games. The event was accompanied by excellent weather and a positive mood.

Participants competed in various individual and team events: sport fishing, team and family volleyball, tug-of-war, running in various age groups, children’s and adults’ square, megaball, beach soccer, obstacle course, relays, etc.

The leader of the games was the team of the trade union of employees of UAB “Elektrėnų komunalinis ūkis”. They won 40 prize places!

The second was the “Achemas” team: this team won 21 prizes. The third place went to the AB “Kauno energija” team (12 prize places).

The Energy Distribution Operator (ESO) team also performed well. They managed to win 11 prize places. The “Ignitis Gamyba” team was also successful.

Hundreds of medals were distributed

On Saturday, at 9 o’clock, the opening of the games was traditionally held. The participants lined up in a ceremonial procession. They were greeted by Dalia Jakutavičė, chairperson of the Lithuanian Industry Trade Union Federation (LPPSF), Inga Ruginienė, chairperson of the Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation (LPSK), Valdas Lukoševičius, president of the Lithuanian District Heating Association (LŠTA), and Goda Neverauskaitė, representative of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).

The awarding of the winners took place on Saturday evening. 46 cups and 113 gold, silver and bronze medals were distributed. The children who participated in the runs on Sunday morning also received a special medal each. In addition, the winners were also awarded with special prizes.
