On June 7-9, 2019, in the resort Šventoji near the Baltic sea, the XXIV Lithuanian Industry Workers’ Federation (LITUF) Families Sports Games were held.
More than 1000 workers from energy, public utilities, construction and chemical industry enterprises took part in this traditional event. They competed in team games (family and beach volleyball, rope pulling, log cutting, etc.) and individual competitions (darts, checkers, chess, runs, weight lifting, etc.).
The most sporty team this year was UAB „Elektrėnų komunalinis ūkis“ –27 prizes, second one – Achema Trade Union (16 prizes) and the third place went to UAB „Vilniaus šilumos tinklai“, UAB KAEFER and AB „Lietuvos energijos gamyba“ (13 prizes).
Vice Chairman of the LITUF Dalia Jakutavičė and guests – Member of the Lithuanian Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Gediminas Vasiliauskas and President of the Lithuanian District Heating Association (LDHA) Valdas Lukoševičius – welcomed the participants at the opening ceremony in Saturday morning.
46 cups and 122 gold, silver and bronze medals were distributed to the winners. A special medal was given to the children who participted in running races. Also toys, books, and painting sets were givent to the the winners of this competition.
Next year, in 2020, anniversary, XXV, Sports Games will be held.
