On February 2 education and career exhibition „Studies 2017“ was held in Lithuanian Exhibition Centre LITEXPO. Thousands of students, pupils from senior classes and their parents visited this traditional exhibition.
Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation (LPSK) youth team also participated in this event for the first time.
According to one of the main organizers, President of Association „LPSK Youth“ and Lithuanian Industry Trade Union‘s Federation (LPPSF) youth chairman Tomas Jakutavičius, organizers were pleasantly surprised that there is quite considerable interest in the trade unions and its activities.
Visitors of the exhibition had an opportunity to check their knowledge in the labour market by solving specially prepared tests, they also were told about the activity of Lithuanian trade unions, workers’ rights and guarantees, etc. Leaflets, brochures, calendars and other trade union trappings were distributed to the visitors.
„We will surely participate in similar exhibitions in the future, because we discovered that taking part in such kind of events is one of the most effective ways of communicating to young people and spreading the word about the trade unions”, – says LPPSF youth chairman.
