November 14, 2024 Instruments for strengthening social dialogue were discussed in Oslo Topic: Cooperation, Events, Norway Grants, Social Dialogue Share: A conference on the development of social dialogue and decent work through project activities took place in Oslo, Norway, on 13 November. It was organised by the “Innovation Norway”.The event was attended by project promoters and partners from all over Europe who have participated in the Social Dialogue and Decent Work Programme under Norwegian grants. The conference marked the end of a successful six-year programme to strengthen social dialogue and improve working conditions in 12 European countries.Over the years, the programme has helped to build the capacity of the social partners, foster trust and create forums for employers and workers to cooperate. Inspired by the Nordic model, it has promoted decent work and access to jobs.The conference brought together representatives from European workers’ and employers’ organisations. Lithuanian workers were represented by Jurga Subačiūtė-Žemaitienė, Deputy Chair of the Lithuanian Industry Trade Union Federation, and colleagues from the Lithuanian Confederation of Trade Unions and the Lithuanian Federation of Law Enforcement Officers.The participants shared information from different projects and covered four thematic areas:Social dialogue – what and how can we learn from each other?Decent work – what are the main challenges and how can the social partners respond to them?Access to work for refugees and displaced persons in Ukraine – what role can the social partners play?How to make social dialogue better fit for the future?
