The rights of posted workers were discussed with legal experts

On December 3 a webinar “Problems of Legal Regulation and Practical Application of Posted Workers” was held.

The speakers of the event, Daiva Petrylaitė, Professor at the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University, and Vida Petrylaitė, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University, spoke about the concept of posted workers, legal regulation and issues, and employers' responsibility.

The most important emphasis was on the guarantees of posted workers, the role of trade unions in Lithuanian companies in informing and consulting posted workers, the peculiarities of collective bargaining and the application of collective agreements in relation to posted workers.

The event was organized as part of the European Commission's funded STEP UP PROTECTION project "Enhancing Cooperation and Communication between Public and Private Sector Organizations to Protect the Rights of Posted Workers in Europe".

The project aims to assess the application of the most relevant and up-to-date provisions of European Union law on the posting of workers, business behavior and the role of regulatory authorities.

The project is implemented by the University of Parma (coordinator), the University of Granada, the National School of Political Science and Public Administration (Romania), the Portuguese Catholic University and Vilnius University.
