On June 19-20, in Šventoji, recreation center "Energetikas", the 25th Lithuanian Industrial Workers' Family Sports Games took place. It was organized after a two-year break and attended by 500 industrial workers and their families from all over Lithuania. 13 teams from the heat industry, chemical industry, electricity and other companies participated in the Games.

Participants competed in various individual and team competitions: sport fishing, team and family volleyball, rope pulling, log cutting, races in various age groups, children's and adult dodgeball games, relays, etc.

This year, the most productive team was UAB Elektrėnų komunalinis ūkis – it won 42 prize places. The second was the team of AB Achema: it won 29 prizes. The third was ESO team (17 prize places).

The opening of the Games traditionally took place on Saturday at 9 p.m. At the beginning, the memory of Juozas Neverauskas, the long-term leader of the Lithuanian Industry Trade Union Federation (LPPSF), one of the initiators and patrons of these Games, was honored.

Later, Dalia Jakutavičė, President of the LPPSF, and Inga Ruginienė, President of the Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation (LPSK) and Valdas Lukoševičius, President of The Lithuanian District Heating Association (LDHA), gave a welcome speech.

This year, the organizer of the event, the Lithuanian Federation of Industrial Trade Unions (LPPSF), raised the flag of the winner of the fishing match Lina Jackaitytė from UAB Elektrėnų komunalinis ūkis.

To ensure better safety of the participants, the procedure of awarding of the winners was somewhat unusual: cups and medals were awarded at the end of each match. 49 cups and 87 gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded. The children who took part in the races also received a special medal. And the winners of the children's dodgeball game in 10-year category were awarded special prizes by the Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation.

It should be noted that the Sports Games were organized in accordance with the requirements of COVID-19. Also part of favourite and traditional activities have been avoided for everyone's safety. However, the organizers looked at the situation creatively and invited all the teams to take part in a flash mob on Saturday night, on the beach, while dancing the popular dance „Jerusalema“.

Congratulations again to all the Games winners and a big thanks to all the participants of the Games!
